PUBG LITE Beta quick review

If you like playing battle royale games and adore PUBG's interpretation of the genre, you get enough choices to enjoy the experience anyplace at any time. If you want to settle in for serious battlecraft with the most realistic simulation, PUBG on PC is the best way to get that experience. If you want to enjoy quick sessions of PUBG to massage your gamer ego by beating a few noobs on the move, PUBG MOBILE is at your service. However, there's a massive gap between these two versions of the same game and it seems that the studio has finally filled in the gap with PUBG LITE.
Okay, the PUBG team may be promoting the game as a more accessible version of the hardcore version on PC but in a lot of ways, this game feels more than just being accessible. And the best part about PUBG LITE is that it costs nothing to download and play - similar to the PUBG MOBILE. Despite coming with many compromises, the PUBG team promises the authentic PUBG experience and even in its beta stage, that claim seems to be true.
The game has been available since yesterday and I spent a few hours with it on my regular non-gaming laptop to see whether it manages to paste a massive smile.

Where does PUBG LITE exactly sit in delivering the experience?

As I said, the PUBG team is claiming to offer the authentic PUBG experience with this game. However, in the time I spent with the game, I think the game delivers an experience that surpasses the authentic PUBG experience.
The gameplay experience is a mix between PUBG for PC and PUBG MOBILE. You get the same physics system as PUBG for PC but knitted with all the conveniences of PUBG MOBILE. This, in my opinion, is enough to compel players to try out the game.
I spent a lot of hours in PUBG and even after dedicating a lot of time to the game, it's a struggle for a casual gamer like me. The almost realistic physics and simulation require real fighting instincts to manage to reach in the top standings. On the other hand, PUBG MOBILE is joyous with is easier gameplay style but the physics and watered down graphics at times make players want the same experience in a better package. PUBG LITE hits the sweet spot in between.
With PUBG LITE, you are getting the same PUBG physics, which is a bonus for gamers who like a little more challenge. At the same time, the game helps you in its own sweet ways to be more competitive. Every time I was being shot at by an enemy, the game notified me about the direction from where the firing was coming - just like PUBG MOBILE. Even when an enemy approaches with vehicles, the mini-map shows the positioning of the enemy thus giving casual players like me a chance to fight back against the pro-level players. The game also keeps the player updated on how much points he/she is earning while surviving each round.
The in-game physics are quite impressive. The way the player moves or crouches behind a wall while under attack seems realistic. The vehicle dynamics also encourage players to use them in order to move inside the world. Like all versions of PUBG, you can dress up your character with clothes earned from in-game crates. To add to the realism, players need to pick up weapons, medication or other items from the floor manually. What's even more challenging is that players need to reload the weapon manually when the magazine is empty.
The best part, however, is that all players are right now learning the game and hence, you aren't facing pro-level players right now. I was able to reach the top 5 most of the time with very simple battle skills.
I also found the controls to be fairly easy. You get simple controls schematics that you may have witnessed in gaming franchises such as Grand Theft Auto and Battlefield. I tried it with a controller but the game is best played with a mouse and keyboard setup.

PUBG LITE nails it in the graphics department

The fully loaded version of PUBG impresses so much with its graphics that often I find myself getting distracted (and eventually shot by enemies). With the PUBg LITE, you can get almost the same graphics, albeit with noticeable compromises. I played this game on a laptop specced with an Intel Core i7-8750H processor and an NVIDIA GeForce 1050Ti Max-Q GPU and in the maxed-out settings, the overall visual effects look good but not as good as PUBG. PUBG LITE does miss out on the amazing light effects and some high-resolution textures of few objects. The player details are a notch below than the full version of PUBG but it's still not bad in any way -- fro someone coming from PUBg MOBILE, it is a massive upgrade. The reflections are good but not great. In short, the graphics feel like they are from the early years of the PS4 era. But given that this game is meant to run on low-end laptops, I can't complain.
I also played the game in the lowest graphical settings and the just looked like a scaled-up version of PUBG MOBILE in its lowest settings. It doesn't look pretty in these settings but if you are restricted by your hardware, this is the best experience you are going to get.

First impressions: A must-play game for battle royale enthusiasts

As a gamer accustomed to fighting titles and open-world shooters on PC, PUBG LITE impressed me highly with what it offers. The team has just nailed the sweet spot in delivering the perfect gameplay experience that many casual PUBG players have been longing for since a year now. With good graphics and amazing physics, you can't get a better battle royale experience than PUBG LITE. And especially when you consider that this is free to play, it becomes a must-have for all gamers.

Team Sonic Racing Review

Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC.

How do you evolve the humble kart racer? It's a tough proposition, especially for a genre so singularly defined by Mario Kart’s dominating presence. Yet the traditional rival to Nintendo's plumber has come closest to establishing a vibrant alternative, chiefly with 2010's Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and its 2012 sequel, All-Stars Racing Transformed.
While that last game impressed with a solid roster of characters from across Sega's library, transforming vehicles, and fun weapons, the sub-franchise has been quiet for the last seven years – until now. Developers Sumo Digital are back, dropping the wider Sega cast and focusing in on Sonic and his anthropomorphic mates.
While this largely sticks to the established kart racing formula – colourful, twisting tracks packed with obstacles and hidden routes, bizarre power ups, speed booster ground strips, and racers of different weight, speed, and handling classes – there are a few tweaks that help it stand out. The biggest change is in the name: here, you win or lose as a team.
Characters are split into groups of three, each member specialising in speed, technique or power. For Team Sonic, the blue hedgehog himself is the speed racer, Tails is technique, and Knuckles is power. Team Amy sees the same roles attributed to Amy Rose, Chao, and Big the Cat, respectively. With five teams in all, including some niche figures from Sonic lore such as Zavok and Vector, there's plenty here for Sonic fans.
Doesn't have the effortless charm of its predecessors.
While you'll only select one racer to directly play as, the performance of your teammates impacts the chances of victory. Each racer earns points based on their finishing position, and the team's final score determines placing. This is fine for multiplayer races – online or off – where you can co-ordinate efforts, but can become frustrating when playing solo, when the other two characters are AI controlled. Finishing first place yourself, but having teammates come further down the chart and potentially robbing you of the win is immensely annoying.
This is somewhat mitigated by some genuinely fun mechanics that make use of the team format. Riding in an ally's slipstream builds up a slingshot charge, allowing you to catapult ahead with a speed boost, while swerving past stalled pals gives them a jump start. The power-ups, called Wisps, are also restricted by character type – a speed racer will never get a technical racer's Wisp, for instance – but the ability to trade items between teammates allows for some tactical play.
The group approach is the main style of play in the story-driven adventure mode, which sees Sonic and his allies and enemies drawn into a series of races by the suspicious Dodon Pa. Adventure also throws a few variant race styles in – Survival is a tense elimination format, where the last racer each lap is knocked out; Grand Prix sees you having to place first over four back-to-back races; Daredevil has you drifting through red and yellow posts to rack up points and multiplier bonuses; Ring Race has you collecting Sonic's familiar golden rings against the clock.
The latter two of these see some of the game's strangest difficulty spikes though. Starting with a matter of seconds on a timer, you'll have to rack up a high enough score to win medals, or collect enough rings. It feels nigh-impossible though, the slightest mistake or missed ring meaning you're out of time before you achieve the goal. Thankfully, these are usually optional races, branched off from the main progression, so they shouldn't hold players back but will aggravate completionists. They're also made marginally more tolerable by returning later when you've upgraded racers' vehicles – but upgrades themselves are randomly awarded from loot box-style drops, bought with in-game credits earned through play.
Away from the story, Grand Prix tournaments, single session Exhibition Races, and Time Trials offer more traditional single player races alongside the team racing format, which removes some of the frustrations created by the latter for anyone simply not enjoying it. Unfortunately, if you're not digging the team racing, it's always central to the game's focus – again, it's in the name. Coupled with the irritations of Daredevil and Ring Race challenges, Team Sonic Racing just doesn't have the same effortless charm of its predecessors.

Nokia 9 PureView India Launch Officially Teased by HMD Global

The Nokia 9 PureView with five rear cameras is finally coming to India after nearly five months of its global launch

The Nokia 9 PureView is finally coming to India, as teased by HMD Global. The
official Nokia Mobile India Twitter account today teased the launch of Nokia 9 PureView in the sub-continent, but it did not provide any launch date. At the moment, all we know is the Nokia 9 PureView coming to the Indian market after nearly five months of its global launch back at the MWC 2019 tech show. For the unaware, the Nokia 9 PureView is HMD Global’s first flagship smartphone for 2019 and it comes with five 12MP rear cameras- a first on any smartphone till date. Several Nokia fans have been waiting for the company to launch this phone in India, but being a flagship handset, we’re going to see steep pricing like the Nokia 8 Sirocco.

Nokia 9 PureView India Launch:The Nokia 9 PureView is an interesting smartphone from HMD Global or from any company right now. The handset offers five 12MP rear cameras to deliver exceptional images. HMD Global already launched the device in several countries and the reviews for the product were decent too. At the launch, the Nokia 9 PureView wasn’t a finished product, but HMD Global has refined the handset with several software updates.
As noted, HMD Global just teased the device as ‘Coming Soon’ to the Indian market without revealing any launch date. Also, there are no media invites from the company’s side, so the handset launch might be a bit far away.
Nokia 9 PureView Specifications and Features:Specifications wise, the Nokia 9 Pure View will not have many fans out there because it’s a phone from 2018. The handset sports a 5.99-inch Quad HD+ screen on the front with 18:9 aspect ratio and no notch or pop-up selfie camera. Underneath, it’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and comes with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage. It’ll be interesting to see whether HMD Global released the Nokia 9 PureView with the same chipset or the latest Snapdragon 855 SoC. There’s an in-display fingerprint scanner as well.
As for the cameras, we get five 12MP sensors on the rear side along with a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor. There are two 12MP RGB sensors and three 12MP monochrome sensors to capture information. HMD Global claims that all the five sensors will work in tandem and capture an image so that it delivers the best quality image from any smartphone. It’ll be interesting to see how this technology actually works in real life.
Nokia 9 PureView Expected Pricing in India:The Nokia 9 PureView is a unique smartphone when it comes to cameras, but the internal hardware is from 2018. Also, HMD Global has the habit of overpricing their flagship phones. Going by the earlier rumours, the Nokia 9 PureView will likely be priced at Rs 49,999 in India and it will compete with the OnePlus 7 Pro.

Deepak Kochhar, Videocon had appointed dummy directors: ED probe

ICICI Bank-Videocon loan case: Chanda and Deepak Kochhar have been summoned yet again by the Enforcement Directorate this week.

Former ICICI Bank Chief Chanda Kochhar's husband Deepak Kochhar

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has found that Deepak Kochhar's NuPower Renewables and Venugopal Dhoot-promoted Videocon Group had appointed a dozen dummy directors who had nothing to do with the core operations.
The 'dummy' directors were appointed to hide ownership, evade tax and launder money as mentioned in a report in Business Standard. ED officials have recorded statements of these directors who admitted that they were dummy representatives and had signed on many documents at the command of their bosses.
The daily mentions that one such director, Lakshmikant Sudhakar Katore, who was on board of Real Cleantech Private (RCPL) was actually a gardener in Venugopal Dhoot's house. Three others, Vivek Dattatraya Dharm, Kesharmal Nenusukhlal Gandhi and Chetan Ratansinh Mankerni who were on the board of the Indian Refrigerator Company also acted as dummy directors.
Dhoot did not respond to queries by the daily.
Neelam Mahesh Advani who is Chanda Kochhar's sister-in-law, Sharad Shankar Mhatre and Umanath Nayak were directors on Supreme Energy, Credential Finance and Pacific Capital Services. Advani issued a statement and said that she was not aware of Deepak Kochhar's directorship and had nothing to do with the company. As per Registrar of Companies (RoC), Videocon owned 17 per cent stake in Credential Finance by 2001 while the Kochhar family held 2 per cent.
Chanda and Deepak Kochhar have been summoned yet again by the Enforcement Directorate this week.

[Updated] WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Services Restored Globally After Lengthy Outage

The outage appeared to be global, with media reports and tweets revealing that the issue was prevalent across Europe, United States and Africa as well.

Facebook has confirmed that after a rather lengthy outage, all services have been restored across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. News18 has also independently confirmed that services are now back to functioning properly. A statement shared by Facebook on Twitter reads, "Earlier today, some people and businesses experienced trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps and platforms. The issue has since been resolved and should be back at 100% for everyone. We're sorry for any inconvenience."

At 9:48PM IST, Facebook's global Twitter handle broadcast that it is aware of the issue, and is working on a fix. The Facebook statement read, "We're aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images, videos or other files on our apps. We're sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible." As of right now, the issues still persist on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp on both Android and iOS.

WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook's services are seemingly experiencing technical glitches since earlier on Wednesday. The outage appears to be global, with media reports and tweets revealing that the issue is prevalent across Europe, USA and Africa as well. In India, while the WhatsApp chat interface and Instagram posts and stories are active, transferring any form of media, including audio and images, appear to be frozen for now.

Sending of files are still active, hinting this may be some sort of a widespread server bug preventing individuals from downloading content that has been shared.
As of 8:30 pm IST, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram had been inactive for nearly over an hour. While exchanging text messages on WhatsApp remained possible, users in other parts of the world such as Scotland and Zimbabwe confirmed that the app had gone down completely in Europe and the US. With no official update yet, there is no clarity on when the features might be restored.

'Positive development in F&O space ahead the Union Budget 2019'

If Nifty holds 11,600-11,650 during the upcoming event, the probability of rally beyond the important psychological figure of 12,000 may increase.

June series had no major triggers as we saw index consolidating for the first three weeks and then some respite in the final week. For the major part of the series, the benchmark index was swinging in the range of 11,600-11,850 without any relevant open interest change in F&O space.
This week, the market started the proceedings on a sluggish note and once again the major support zone of 11,650–11,630 was challenged in the initial part. Fortunately, similar to recent patterns, strong buying emerged at lower levels that pushed the index significantly higher to enter a relatively safer zone.
Although, last couple of days we saw some struggle around 11,800–11,850, Nifty eventually managed to close below 11,800 by adding more than half a percent to the previous week’s close.
In the recent rally, fresh longs were formed in the futures segment. We believe this development in the final week of June series could be due to the positive sentiment by traders ahead of the Union Budget 2019 scheduled on July 5.
Now, let us dig into the rollover data and try to find out some cues for the July series. Rollover in Nifty stood at 80.35 percent, which is certainly above the 3-month average of 77.89 percent. This suggests that the longs formed in June series have been rolled over to the next series.
As far as Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) are concerned, they formed short positions in index futures throughout the last series. As a result, their ‘Long Short Ratio’ which was at 60 percent during the start of June series plunged to 53 percent. But, they seemed reluctant in rolling these bearish bets in the coming series and hence, once again this ratio has shot up to 62 percent, indicating they are starting the July series with majority of long positions in the system.
Now, such a shift in stronger hands position ahead of the Union Budget is likely due to the anticipation of positive development during the Budget. The volatility index is currently around 15, such low IV’s are again an indication of strength in the market.
Considering the above data points, we believe if Nifty holds 11,600-11,650 during the upcoming event, the probability of rally beyond the important psychological figure of 12,000 may increase. Hence, traders are advised trading with a positive bias and should maintain a strict stop loss around the above mentioned support zone.

Moody's India Unit Sends CEO On Leave Amid Whistleblower Probe

Moody's Investors Service's India unit has asked its chief to go on leave immediately amid its investigation into a whistle-blower complaint that executives at the company interfered to guarantee top ratings for a financier that plunged to default just two months later.
ICRA's board has decided to place Chief Executive Officer Naresh Takkar on leave and appointed Group Chief Financial Officer Vipul Agarwal as interim chief operating officer, the company said in an exchange filing on Monday evening. The company is examining the concerns raised in the whistle-blower complaint that was sent to it by the regulator.
The rating company was probing certain matters related to a debt score it assigned to a client and its subsidiaries, ICRA said in May, without naming the client. ET Now television channel had reported that the complaint says the executives meddled to ensure systemically important Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services would receive a AAA rating, citing people it didn't identify.
Credit raters such as ICRA have been criticized for missing warning signs like the infrastructure financier's soaring debt load, which jumped 44 per cent between 2015 and 2018. The default of IL&FS sent shock waves across the country's credit markets, triggering a liquidity crisis that is still reverberating among the shadow lenders. Investors are demanding nearly the highest premium in six years to hold non-bank financiers' short-term debt.
The New Delhi-based unit of Moody's declined to comment while emails seeking comments from Mr Agarwal and Mr Takkar remained unanswered.
IL&FS's bonds and loans held AAA ratings until August 2018, when ICRA cut the issuer to AA+, the second-highest rank. A month later, a unit of the company defaulted on short-term debt obligations and ICRA hit the company with a 10-notch downgrade to BB, a junk grade. The shadow lender was cut yet again to D, a rating reserved for debt in default or expected to be in default in a matter of days.

MacKenzie Bezos, wife of Amazon founder, to get $38 billion in world’s biggest divorce settlement

MacKenzie will become the world’s fourth-richest woman and has already promised to give away at least half of her fortune

MacKenzie Bezos, wife of the world’s richest man and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos for 26 years, is set to walk away from her husband with a whopping $38 billion in the world’s biggest divorce settlement.
MacKenzie(49) an author, will become the world’s fourth-richest woman, and has already promised to give away at least half of her fortune, the CNN business reported.
MacKenzie, who married Jeff in 1993, a year before he started Amazon from his garage in Seattle, has said she had “a disproportionate amount of money to share” and promised to work hard at giving it away “until the safe is empty.“
She announced her intention to make a massive donation in a blog on a website set up by The Giving Pledge, an organisation founded by Warren Buffett and Bill Gates, which encourages the super-rich to devote more than half their wealth to philanthropic causes.
The couple, who have four children, finalised their divorce in April in what was reported as the biggest divorce settlement in history, entitling MacKenzie to 25 per cent of couple’s joint Amazon stocks worth around $ 38 billion, the report said.
Even with the settlement, Jeff will be the richest individual in the world with an estimated net worth of $118 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
The settlement is expected to come this week based on a 90-day timeline given in a financial disclosure filed in April.
The Amazon CEO will not lose control of the e-commerce giant despite now owning fewer shares.
“This is because despite his soon-to-be ex-wife walking away with a 4% stake in Amazon, she has voluntarily ceded her voting rights to Jeff Bezos,” said the report on Tuesday.
Applauding his ex-wife on her donation decision, 55-year-old Jeff said: “MacKenzie is going to be amazing and thoughtful and effective at philanthropy, and I’m proud of her. Her letter is so beautiful. Go get ‘em MacKenzie,” on Twitter.
MacKenzie has also given her stocks in other companies: “Happy to be giving him all of my interests in the Washington Post, Blue Origin (private space company) and 75% of our Amazon stock plus voting control of my shares,” she tweeted recently.
The pair first announced plans to separate in January following reports of Jeff cheating on his wife, claims that he denied later.

Vijay Mallya Reaches UK High Court To Appeal Against Extradition Order

Embattled liquor tycoon Vijay Mallya arrived at the UK High Court on Tuesday as he seeks permission to appeal against an extradition order signed off by UK home secretary Sajid Javid for him to be extradited to India to face alleged fraud and money laundering charges amounting to Rs. 9,000 crore.
The 63-year-old former Kingfisher Airlines boss said he was feeling "positive" as he entered the Royal Courts of Justice.
He has already lost a UK High Court "leave to appeal" on paper, leading to an oral hearing of his renewal application this week.
A two-judge bench of the Administrative Court division of the Royal Courts of Justice in London will hear the application, filed in April.
During the day-long hearing, listed before Justices George Leggatt and Andrew Popplewell, Vijay Mallya's legal team and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) - arguing on behalf of the Indian government - will go head to head to reiterate factors for and against the businessman's extradition to Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai.
The judges are likely to reserve their judgment in the case and hand down their ruling in the coming weeks.
In the scenario that Vijay Mallya is unsuccessful in his appeal, he must be extradited within 28 days from the appeal decision becoming final. However, if he is granted permission to appeal, the case will then proceed to a full hearing stage at the UK High Court.
The appeal will mark one of the final stages of the appeals process, as the chances of permission to appeal to the Supreme Court are unlikely if such permission is already denied at the High Court stage.
"It is not for me to prejudge the outcome of the appeal, but he [Mallya] does face serious challenges in overturning the order for extradition," said Toby Cadman, co-founder of Guernica 37 International Justice Chambers.
"The right to appeal against an extradition order is not straightforward. His defence will have to prove fairly strong grounds to convince the judges to grant an appeal," explained Cadman, a UK-based barrister who handles high-profile extradition cases.
An appeal to the UK's Supreme Court is quite a rare prospect in extradition cases such as this one, as Mallya's defence team would need to have a "point of law of general public importance" certified by the Administrative Court of the High Court.
There is a final recourse for Vijay Mallya to approach the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) based in Strasbourg, France, to argue against his extradition to India on human rights grounds by trying to prove a real threat of harm or torture or that he would not receive a fair trial.
"The likelihood of the ECHR intervening in a case such as this is slim indeed as the threshold is very high," said Cadman, who explained that the European court would take into account that the human rights related arguments had already been taken into account at different levels during the UK court process and that India is democratic country with an established rule of law.
Meanwhile, Vijay Mallya has continued to make a series of interventions on social media to offer "100 per cent payback" to state-owned Indian banks to cover his now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines' debt. He remains on bail on an extradition warrant executed by Scotland Yard in April 2017, involving a bail bond worth 650,000 pounds and other restrictions on his travel.
At the end of a year-long extradition trial at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London last December, Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot had found "clear evidence of dispersal and misapplication of the loan funds" and accepted a prima facie case of fraud and a conspiracy to launder money against Vijay Mallya, as presented by the CPS on behalf of the Indian government.
The court had also dismissed any bars to extradition on the grounds of the prison conditions under which the businessman would be held, as the judge accepted the Indian government's assurances that he would receive all necessary medical care at Barrack 12 in Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail.

Instagram Rolling Out New UI, Making It Easier to Unfollow Users, Contact Businesses

Business profile page has a new Contact button that displays phone number and email ID.

Instagram is rolling out UI tweaks for its Android and iOS users bringing a sleeker design and easy to access unfollow and contact options. This new update makes it easier to unfollow people, message contacts, and add those specific people to the close friend list. For business profiles, this update makes it easier to see contacts information as well. The profile page design has gotten a lot cleaner with buttons reshuffled and removed to make the page looks more organised and neat.
Some of us at Gadgets 360 are able to see these interface-related changes inside the latest Android app. However, some of us aren't able to see the changes even after downloading the latest APK (v101.0.0.0.42). This could be a phased rollout to ensure a smooth experience, or it could even be a test to gauge feedback before it is rolled out to all users. Many users have taken to Twitter to confirm the arrival of the new UI on Instagram as well, on both Android and iOS. Instagram, however, has been quite silent about this change and hasn't made any announcement regarding the matter. We have contacted the company regarding details of this new UI change, and we will update this copy once we hear back.
As for the changes, the layout of the  profile page has been changed. For the user, the Edit Profile button has been moved from below the followers and following number count. This button is now placed right above the Highlights bar taking up the entire space.  For Business profile users, the Edit Profile, Promotions, and Contact buttons are now placed above the Highlights bar. The new placement of the Promotions button will certainly make it easier for businesses to navigate and keep a track of their promoted posts.
As for viewer-facing changes, when you visit a personal profile, you will see the Follow and Message options right above the Highlights Bar. If you are already following the user, pressing the 'Following' button will open several options. These include Unfollow, Add to Close Friends List, Notifications, and Mute. If you choose the notification option, you can customise the kind of notifications you get from that profile. The mute option will prevent the user's post from showing up on your feed or Stories.

Tata Tigor EV priced from Rs 9.99 lakh

Available in two mid-spec variants - XM and XT - the Tigor EV is only on offer to fleet operators, for now.

Prices for Tata’s highly anticipated first all-electric vehicle, the Tigor EV, are finally known. Priced from Rs 9.99 lakh (and going up to Rs 10.90 lakh), the Tata Tigor EV is only available to fleet operators and not for private buyers, yet.
This ex-showroom price includes TCS (a 1 percent tax levied on cars that cost above Rs 10 lakh) and incentives provided by the Indian government’s FAME II scheme (which amounts to Rs 1.62 lakh). This means that without breaks offered by the government scheme for electric vehicles, the Tigor EV costs between Rs 11.61-11.71 lakh. Including taxes and incentives, the Tigor EV’s price is about Rs 4 lakh more than the equivalent petrol Tigor variant.
Available in two mid-spec variants – the Tigor EV XM and Tigor EV XT – the all-electric compact sedan has three exterior colour options (white, blue and silver) and comes with a basic level of safety kit (dual front airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, etc.) ensuring that it conforms with the new norms that come into effect on July 1, 2019.
In terms of features, the XM and XT variants are nearly identical, although the latter variant gets 14-inch alloy wheels (instead of steel wheels) and power-adjustable wing mirrors for the Rs 10,000 premium. Both trims are also decently equipped, especially for the fleet market, though, interestingly, boot space is down by about 89 litres as compared to the standard model’s 419 litres. Other features available are similar to the internal combustion engine-powered Tigor XM, including body-coloured bumpers and door handles, LED tail-lamps, a climate control unit, driver’s seat height-adjust, power windows and a Harman-sourced 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity.

Mechanically, both are powered by a 16.2kWh battery back that sends 30kW (41hp) at 4,500rpm and 105Nm of torque at 2,500rpm to the front wheels through a 72V, 3-phase AC induction motor. While Tata claims 142km range on a single charge, our exclusive review of the Tigor EV showed that it could do about 100km.
While the battery pack can be charged up to 80 percent in 6hr via a standard AC wall socket, a DC 15kW fast charger would do the same in a claimed 90min.
Tata offers a three-year/1.25 lakh kilometre warranty with the vehicle and with the battery pack.
(All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.)

How to enable WhatsApp dark mode on Android and iOS right now

Dark Mode is the theme of this season and you can get the feature on WhatsApp as well. Here is how you can enable dark theme on WhatsApp for Android or iOS in simple steps.

WhatsApp is the latest in the growing list of applications gaining support for Dark mode. Dark Mode, has in fact, become the flavor of the season. Google is adding a system wide dark theme in Android Q, while Apple has done the same with its iOS 13. The biggest reason that makes dark mode attractive is that it puts white text on a black background. This is in contrast to the paper appearance of white text on a black background. While there are no obvious benefits of dark theme, it has been found to be soothing in dark environment. Dark Mode has also been found as a smart way to conserve battery life.
If you have an iPhone or an Android phone then you don't need to wait for the next-gen operating system. You can activate dark mode through certain compatible apps. It is important to note that WhatsApp is working on a native dark mode for its application. The feature is not yet available beyond a handful of beta users. However, there are some clever ways to enable dark theme on WhatsApp right now. The experience may not be as integrated as one would expect, but it is worth checking out.

How to enable WhatsApp's dark mode on iPhone

To enable WhatsApp's dark mode on iPhone, you first need to ensure that your iDevice is running iOS 11 or the newer version. In order to do so, go to Settings -> General -> Software Update. Make sure that your iPhone is running the newest version of Apple's mobile software.
Step 1: Now head over to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Display -> Accommodations -> Invert Colors -> Smart Invert. As you can observe, this is a software workaround, which will become redundant with the release of iOS 13.
Step 2: The above step enables dark theme across the interface by inverting colors.
Step 3: To get full dark mode experience, you will need to change the wallpaper of your WhatsApp chat window. Using a dark background will result in experience similar to dark mode.

How to enable WhatsApp's dark mode on Android

This might come as a disappointment. In order to get dark mode running on Android, you will need the latest Android Q beta. In other words, you will need Google's Pixel or any of the 15 other compatible devices. Considering Android's slow software update cycle, most Android users will be better off waiting for native dark mode. If you have Android Q device then here is how you can enable dark theme.
Step 1: Go to Settings -> Display -> Select Theme -> Dark. This is the new native dark theme that Google is adding with Android Q release.
Step 2: Once you have enabled dark theme on Android, you will need to enable developer options to grant access. You can do so by going to Settings -> About Phone. Here, scroll down to 'Build Number' and tap on it few times till you see a pop-up message saying "Developer Options" is turned on.
Step 3: Once Developer Options is enabled, go to 'Override force-dark' and click on it. This will ensure that you are able to force dark theme within WhatsApp.
Step 4: The above step activates dark theme for WhatsApp on Android Q. However, to get full fledged experience, ensure you use a dark wallpaper as background for the messaging service.

Should you activate dark mode on WhatsApp?

Let's be realistic. Activating dark mode is not gonna result in some person texting you out of a blue. There is also no proof that it will save battery life in a big way. Since WhatsApp is still working on a native dark theme, you should probably wait for that update. However, if you are impatient or want to stay ahead of the curve, the above steps will help you go dark.
